iTunes lets you enjoy all your music, movies, video, and TV shows on your Mac or PC. Background Info

Originally designed allow users to purchase individual songs as digital downloads, iTunes has now incorporated videos, apps, and games into their service. It is a web-based client that, once installed on the user’s computer, allows them to search for various types of digital content, which can be purchased and downloaded through the client. Although it was developed by Apple in 2000, the software can be used on PCs and even some mobile devices.

Searching for games with iTunes takes a bit of work. Rather than finding a section devoted to computer games on the software’s welcome screen, you must first choose iTunes Store from the left menu bar. Once selected, a list of options appears across the top, including music, movies, TV shows, and App Store. The games are contained within the App store option, and can be accessed from the “Game Center” link under the App Store Quick Links section on the right.

After the game center loads, several titles are displayed and can be sorted using the feature in the top right labeled “Sort By” using the Featured, Name, and release date options. The cover art for each title is displayed as a thumbnail, with a brief description of each digital download listed to the right. You will also find an option to buy online using the iTunes client. Clicking the thumbnail will open a more detailed product page, complete with a more thorough overview, screenshots, user ratings, device compatibility information, and the option to purchase the title (some also contain a free demo). Purchasing and downloading games from iTunes requires the user to have an account, which can be created from the checkout screen.

Despite garnering incredible popularity in recent years, iTunes has left some users frustrated and disappointed with the service. Some complain of iTunes requiring them to reinstall the entire program for each update, while others are angry that it comes bundled with QuickTime, whether it’s already installed on the computer or not. Some users have also complained of compatibility issues with other Apple devices, requiring long wait times for transferring files.
