Our Review for Download Game: Portal 2 (PC)

Genre: Action & Arcade | Platform: PC

After giving you internationally acclaimed first person title such as Half Life 1 and 2, Counter Strike, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress and Portal, Valve is back with a new title.

The game is set many years after the events of the first game, in which the protagonist Chell was put into temporary stasis after the destruction of the Aperture Science facility. After Chell is awakened, the facility’s AI, named GLaDOS is extremely displeased at the turn of events, and out of frustration puts Chell through a series of tests. Chell must now navigate through the dangers of the facility, and stop GLaDOS at all costs.

The Portal series has been praised for its interesting gameplay. In Portal 2, the player must solve puzzles in order to proceed throughout the facility. This may include moving objects from one place to another, or moving the character to a location that is otherwise inaccessible. The player carries a portal gun, which is capable of creating two portals in space – blue and orange. Chell enters the blue portal, and emerges from the orange portal having the same velocity she had while entering the blue one. Using concepts of physic such as gravity and conservation of momentum, the player must navigate the puzzles of Aperture Science Facility. In addition to the gun, Chell also has access to various other devices that have various effects such as boosting her speed, or propelling her into the air. Apart from having a single player campaign, Portal 2 also features a two player co-operative campaign, in which both players must guide a pair of robots through the facility.

For all those who love puzzle–solving games, the “Portal” series is a must have!!

Portal to the next level

First off, the game does not hesitate to bring you right into the action. Game mechanics worked flawlessly just like the first one; new gamers who've just discovered this masterpiece and wanting to try Valve's lovechild will feel right at home with the familiar first person controls. Notice I didn't say 'shooter'? That is because it isn't one. The game lets players think on their feet through heavy use of 'portals' and puzzle solving. The best part is, Valve as always delivers a highly appraised storyline to go with it. Pretty standard fare for most fps if I may say so. But the fact that Portal 2 takes the fps platform to a whole new level with stunning visuals that never gets dull as you progress through the levels makes this game a must buy for any hardened fan of first person gaming. Did I mention co-op play as well? Multiplayer in a puzzle based game has never felt more amazing. Its even has its own engaging storyline to boot! So you and your friends can enjoy the game together! Now there are TWO reasons as to why you should own this masterpiece.

Portal absolutely rocked!

I really enjoy FPS games as well as puzzle games. I don't think I've ever seen a game that combined the two as well as Portal did. Some of the puzzles were just mind-bending! I would absolutely love to win Portal 2 and experience how the creators improved on a game that was nearly perfect the 1st time around.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Posted on Dec 7, 2011 by RaySchleicher
Oblivion, the fourth installment of the Elder Scrolls franchise offers almost limitless role playing adventures at a great price. This first-person RPG sucks you into the world of Tamriel, allowing you to customize your character to suit your gameplay. Even after you have completed the main quest, many side quests and expansion packs remain. Once you've finished the official quests (or before), you can continue to enjoy the game with the countless user-created mods available for free online. The huge community of users that continues to make mods for Oblivion gives the game continued relevance and unlimited possibilities. Like its predecessors, Oblivion will likely only be topped by the next chapter in the The Elder Scrolls...Skyrim.

Although this game is evaluated with 55/100, I think it is a very good game: simple but not boring gameplay, interesting sounds, beautiful graphics. I haven't got any problems with this game (such as bugs, crashes etc.). In my opinion, it is an excellent action game.
