This game really is incredible on a number of levels. First, the gameplay is silky smooth. No stutters graphically and the controls are both easy and responsive. Second, Gameloft actually got the voice acting right this time around. The characters sound exactly as you would expect, and the dialogue is clever as well. Third, the boss battles are amazing. One unfortunate thing that Gameloft has been known for in the past are epic levels leading up to quick and underwhelming bosses. Not the case here. I spent the same amount of time on these bosses that I've spent on console bosses. There is a tremendous level of strategy as well. Fourth, the Spidey Sense is extremely fun to use. The touch of a button launches our hero into a slow-motion dodge that fits seamlessly into the animation. There was obviously a lot of thought put into this part of the game. Spidey will execute some truly impressive moves once this is activated. However, that's not to say that his other moves are anything to sneeze at either. Anything but, and that brings me to my fifth and final point. The combo moves are insane! There is so much variety in the ways you can attack in this game that I found myself pausing from time to time to plan out some sort of brutal attack combo. Watching one of these being carried out is truly rewarding.
As for replayability, there is artwork hidden around each level which can be viewed in a gallery. There is also a boss rush mode that can be unlocked. Once the game is beaten, you unlock the Black Suit, which has it's own abilities. There is no "overall" to this conclusion. I have nothing bad to say here, which is rare. Just buy this game. Whether you're a Spidey fan or not, you're sure to find your inner hero.
