“Bulletstorm” is Electronic Arts’ first person shooter entry in the market. It was released in February 2011 for the PC. Even though it was caught up in controversies, the game has received very positive reviews from critics and gamers.

Set in the twenty-sixth century, “Bulletstorm” puts the player in the shoes of Grayson Hunt. He and his partner Ishi Sato were part of a global peacekeeping force known as the “Dead Echo”. However, after they are accused of treason by their commander, they are removed from their special ops team. Grayson, who is now an outlaw, vows to take revenge and tries his best to harass his former captain. In the middle of a chase, his ship crash lands on a planet called Stygia, which is full of monsters, beasts and flesh eating plants. Grayson, along with his faithful companion Ishi, must now fight against both the terrors of Stygia and the forces of the commander who want to bring him in.

“Bulletstorm” introduces many new gameplay aspects in the FPS genre. The player can wield weapons of varying size and power, ranging from small arms to huge weapons that can tear apart enemies with sheer force. The gameplay also focuses on “skillshots”, which provide the player with bonus skill points for killing enemies in new ways, and for causing widespread destruction and mayhem. Skill points allow the player to unlock upgrades and new and powerful weaponry.

If you think “Bulletstorm” is just another shooter, think again. This game will have you hooked for hours, as you mow down enemies with bullets, or dismember them with grenades. Happy Shooting!
