1942, Europe is at war. The Nazis have strongholds in almost all of Europe, France is occupied and the Allied Forces are limited to tactical small man strikes behind enemy lines. You will take the control of one of these squads. A three man team of specialists: the Spy, the Sniper and the Green Beret in the fourth game in the Commandos series and the first to be made using the First Person perspective. Massively outnumbered you'll have to switch between your men and work as a team to turn the situation around and keep Old Blighty in the war.
Pyro Studios (the guys behind Imperial Glory) have gone first person with Strike Force the fourth game in the legendary Commandos series. And this change from isometric team strategy to First Person team tactics is one bet that has really paid off.
This time around the team has been streamlined; you've got the stealthy, laid back spy, the hard-headed gun-toting Green Beret and the cockney, wise cracking sniper (the voice of whom is done by Simon Pegg of Spaced and Shaun of the Dead fame). But despite being limited with the team the tactical challenge is still there. With the sniper it's all in perfect positioning and the Green Beret it's traditional FPS fare with cover and attack, but with the Spy is where the real tactics come out. By killing a guard and nicking his uniform you can wander around the Nazi camp to your heart's content. That is, of course until a higher ranking or a Gestapo officer sees you and then the jig is up.
With missions in occupied France, Norway (just like the first game) and Russia the commandos will be taking on parts of missions each on their own or all together for a real positioning and switching challenge. With main and sub-objectives in almost all the missions (note: doing the sub objectives make the main ones easier), your boys'll have a lot n their plates and even more bad guys to garrotte.
