WoW: Cataclysm is the third expansion pack in the classic “World of Warcraft” MMORPG series. It was released in December 2010.

Once again, this game is set in the fictional world of “Azeroth” (like its predecessors). It revolves around the evil dragon Deathwing’s return to Azeroth, which engulfs the whole continent in chaos. Both the Alliance and Horde are crumbling from within, facing their own problems. It is in these troubled times that the story begins.

The player has to choose from 2 opposing factions – Alliance or Horde. Each faction has its own subclasses, many of whose combinations give unique characters. The game adds many quests to the original “World of Warcraft”, adds new sub-classes and skills, and also provides a whole lot of new regions to explore. The game’s engine and graphics have also seen an overhaul, with many major cities in the game seeing changes in design.
Including Digital Downloads, WoW: Cataclysm sold more than 3 million copies on the first day of its release itself, making it one of the fastest selling computer games, and one of the top rankers on the digital download charts.

The game has seen positive response from critics, and has been awarded a score of 9/10 on most video game websites.
