Compare Prices and Deals for Fort Zombie Download (PC)

I'm getting a bit sick of the zombie thing in general but Fort Zombie seemed like it might have enough going for it in terms of the design premise to overlook that and in theory, it does. A handful of annoying design choices aren't necessarily enough to condemn the game alone but where those fail, the engine succeeds. I'm not sure who coded the engine for this game but it performs far, FAR more horribly than anything which looks so decidedly lo-fi has any right to. I honestly don't mind the graphical appearance, despite the lack of fidelity, but the performance is just rubbish. It somewhat defeats the allure of defending your "Fort" from zombies when the moment zombies attack, your framerate drops to 0.5... and I really wish I were joking about that. Performance isn't the only problem plaguing the engine and you will routinely run into (all pun intended) odd clipping problems as well as the awesome phenomenon whereby zombies will pass straight through walls or other solid objects to attack you. As far as I know, there is no "Houdini Zombie" which would be privy to such a talent. Interesting premise and a decent setup in terms of mechanics but an incredibly awful engine really drags the entire experience through the mud. I imagine if you had a TRULY beastly rig, you might be able to run this game smoothly but there really is absolutely no way to excuse performance issues which effectively break the endgame gameplay. I'd really like to rate this much higher but there you go.
