As you know Steam is watching you. Not only your installed hardware but since July also the software installed on your machine. We are still feeling itchy about this. What we do like unconditionally, though, are the  statistics that Valve produced every month. Here some facts from the last release:
Software Steam users have installed on their machines:
Browsers
- Mozilla Firefox, 63.05%
- Microsoft Internet Explorer, 19.82%
- Google Chrome, 11.56%
- Safari, 8.69%
Office
- Microsoft Office, 57.26%
- Microsoft Works, 15.19%
- OpenOffice, 14.63%
Communication
-
Windows Live Messenger, 52.58%
- Skype, 41.75%
- Bonjour, 31.97%
- TeamSpeak, 17.99%
- Ventrilo, 17.38%
- Xfire, 10.54%
Download Software
- Steam, 100% (obviously)
- Microsoft Games for Windows, 36.63%
- iTunes, 30.73%
- µTorrent, 29.41%
- EA Download Manager, 12.09%
.
Honestly, not too many suprises. However, I didn’t expect to see so many Games for Windows and EA download users.
